It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken is 1 year old! Woot! Party! Celebrate!
It’s hard for me to believe that I have been writing this blog for one whole year already. I remember way back when I posted my first recipe, I was so nervous to share my ideas with the world. Then when I heard that people were actually making my recipes, I got even more nervous! What if they don’t like them? What if they think my writing is boring? I mean, really who cares about this random chick who decided to attack the plants in her kitchen? Well, it is a total pleasure to say, that it wasn’t long before I started getting followers, and some of those followers weren’t my parents, and some of those non-parent followers started making my recipes and (joy) liked them! Even loved them!! Aww shucks, I’m blushing.
So here I am today, wondering how I can possibly share my appreciation for you! For my readers. For those who are vegan, and those who just want to eat more veggies. When I started It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken, I didn’t really have a plan other than just making some yummy recipes. Over the year, I have realized that without thinking about it, I started to gear my recipes, articles, and ideas to one focus: show the world how awesome being vegan is! To me, this isn’t about deprivation, this isn’t about being angry, or about feeling left out. For me, going vegan made a huge shift in my life, and it was all towards the good. The better. The what was I missing!?
My goal is to introduce the beauty of the vegan diet. To show you how eating vegan benefits your mind, body, soul and taste buds. It’s fun, exciting, easy, delicious, and it definitely doesn’t taste like chicken.
So in honour of this goal, and It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken’s birthday, I wanted to launch a new challenge. A new attention grabbing, intrigue the meat eaters type challenge. Are you ready for it? I’m excited!
