This silky-smooth Avocado Crema is tangy, bright, and ultra-creamy thanks to fresh lime and vegan yogurt. It blends up in just 5 minutes and adds instant flavor to tacos, bowls, nachos, roasted veggies, quesadillas, and more. A must-have topping for any Mexican-inspired meal!

This avocado crema is the kind of sauce that instantly makes dinner taste restaurant-level. It's silky, tangy, and ultra-creamy (no dairy needed), with fresh lime, a little garlic, and vegan yogurt to keep it bright and balanced. Drizzle it over tacos, burrito bowls, nachos, tofu Sofritas, roasted veggies, or anything that needs a cool, creamy finishing touch.

Why This Avocado Crema Is About to Be Your New Favorite Condiment
- 5-minute recipe: Everything blends together in a matter of minutes, making it perfect to whip up while you're waiting for dinner to be done.
- Creamy without dairy: The avocado and vegan yogurt create a rich, silky texture without any dairy cream.
- Fresh, bright flavor: Lime juice, garlic, and yogurt make this avocado crema bright, tangy, and savory.
- Incredibly versatile: It's not just for tacos, and not even just for Mexican food! I love it as a salad dressing, drizzled on baked sweet potatoes, or for dipping raw veggies.
- Customizable: I share some ideas below to help you put a different spin on this recipe.

Ingredients for Avocado Crema
- Ripe avocado: Choose one that gives slightly when gently pressed.
- Vegan yogurt: Soy, almond, or coconut yogurt all work well, as long as it's plain.
- Lime juice: Use fresh juice, not bottled, for the best flavor.
- Garlic: Use a small clove; the lime juice will mellow its sharpness, so you're left with a savory garlic flavor.
- Salt: Add as much as you need.
- Water: Used to thin the crema to your preferred consistency.
How to Make Avocado Crema

- Combine: Add the avocado, vegan yogurt, lime juice, garlic, and salt to a blender or food processor.

- Blend: Blend until completely smooth. Add water a little at a time until the crema reaches your desired consistency.

- Taste: Taste and adjust the salt or lime juice as needed.

- Serve: Use on tacos, bowls, nachos, roasted veggies, and more.
Tips & Variations
- Make a bigger batch: This recipe is easy to double or triple if you're serving a crowd or meal prepping.
- Avocado ripeness: If your avocado is even slightly underripe, the crema can taste a bit bitter. Use a ripe one that gives slightly when pressed.
- Yogurt tip: Use plain, unsweetened yogurt (vanilla yogurt will taste weird here).
- Cilantro lime version: Blend in fresh cilantro for a bright, herby twist.
- Spicy crema: Add chipotle in adobo for smoky heat.
- Extra garlic flavor: Include another small clove if you love a stronger garlic flavor.
